PG Refresher Course – Refocus, Recharge, Refresh

A highly engaging and revitalizing postgraduate refresher course was organized by the Department of Community Medicine in collaboration with the IAPSM Karnataka State Chapter at BVV Sangha’s S. Nijalingappa Medical College and HSK Hospital & Research Centre, Bagalkote, on December 6th and 7th, 2024. A total of 15 of highly experienced faculties from different medical colleges along with faculty of Department of Community Medicine, SNMC actively took the session for sixty registered post graduate delegates from all over Karnataka. The President of IAPSM Karnataka state chapter Dr Poonam Naik and the vice presidents Dr Animesh Jain and Dr Asha B supported the course by joining in person and being with the organizing team for both the days.

PG Exam Made Easy – 2024

Department of community medicine, JJMMC, Davanagere in collaboration with IAPSM Karnataka state chapter conducted a national level mock practical exam workshop for the postgraduates of Community Medicine department on 8^th and 9^th November 2024.

This mock practical exam was structured to closely resemble the final university exam for the exam-going students, which helped them in being more prepared to face the final exams. This workshop boosted their confidence levels and gave them a head start to work on their limitations and improve their strengths.

The Department of Community Medicine at Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR), in collaboration with the Indian Journal of Community Medicine, successfully organized a hands-on workshop on “Research Proposal Writing for International Grants” on 14^th September 2024. Nationwide IAPSM Quiz – World Health Day 2024

The Nationwide IAPSM Quiz, organized by the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM) and the IAPSM Karnataka Chapter, celebrated World Health Day with enthusiasm and engagement from colleges across Karnataka.

Report on Clean Drive – World Environment Month

On the occasion of world environment day to raise awareness and encourage action for the protection of our planet “Clean Drive” was conducted near Upli buruz by first year students,post graduatesand interns from UHTC Chandabowdi.Clean drive mainly focused on educating residents near Upli buruz to prevent plastic pollution. The plastic litter around the Upli buruz was cleaned by the students.The battle against plastic pollution is far from over.Only through collective action we can make significant impact in beating plastic pollution

Drawing Competition Report – World Environment Month

On Eve of World Environment month, a drawing competition was organized by Department of Community Medicine to raise awareness about the urgent need to “Beat Plastic Pollution”. Students from various disciplines of the BLDE (DU) University actively participated in the competition and showcased their artistic skills while conveying an important message. Participants were encouraged to highlight on plastic pollution through their art work and suggest ways to combat plastic pollution.

This event was organized in Demonstration Hall 01 of Community medicine department under supervision of Dr.Pooja Todalabagi. The judges for this competition were Dr.S.P Chaukimath Professor, Department of Psychiatry ,Mr.Bhuyar Modeler Department of Anatomy and Dr.M.C.Yadavannavar & other faculty of Department of Community Medicine assessed students work based on creativity relevance to the theme and the solutions to combat plastic pollution. Best three art works were awarded cash prize.

The event successfully raised awareness among the students regarding the importance of preserving the environment and the role they can play in combating plastic pollution. It provided a platform in creative expression while emphasizing the need for sustainable practices.
